Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
• Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
• Disconnect the battery if working on electrical components.

2. Remove Wheel

• Loosen lug nuts with a socket wrench before lifting the vehicle.
• Use a jack to lift the vehicle and support it with jack stands.
• Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.

3. Inspect and Replace Brake Rotors

• Inspection:
  • Use a dial indicator to measure rotor run-out; if it exceeds specifications, replace the rotor.
• Removal:
  • Remove the caliper by unscrewing the caliper bolts; support it with a hanger to avoid strain on the brake line.
  • Take off the rotor by removing any retaining screws and sliding it off the hub.
• Replacement:
  • Install the new rotor, ensuring it is properly aligned and secured.
  • Clean the rotor surface with brake cleaner to remove any oils or contaminants.

4. Inspect and Replace Brake Pads

• Check the thickness of the brake pads; if they are worn below the minimum thickness, replace them.
• Remove the old pads by sliding them out of the caliper bracket.
