Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Tools Required:
    • Socket set
    • Torque wrench
    • Spark plug socket (typically 5/8 inch or 16mm)
    • Ratchet
    • Extension bar
    • Anti-seize lubricant (optional)
    • Vacuum cleaner or compressed air
  • Ensure the engine is cool before starting the replacement.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to prevent any electrical issues.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • If equipped, remove any engine covers obstructing access to the spark plugs.
    • Unscrew any bolts holding the cover in place using a socket set.
    • Lift the cover off gently and set aside.
3. Remove Ignition Coils
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from each ignition coil.
  • Remove the bolts securing the ignition coils using a socket set.
  • Gently pull the ignition coils out from their respective cylinders.
4. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Use the spark plug socket and ratchet to carefully unscrew the old spark plugs.
  • Clean the area around the spark plug holes with a vacuum or compressed air to prevent debris from entering the combustion chamber.
5. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plugs (optional).
  • Hand-tighten the new spark plugs into the cylinder heads to avoid cross-threading.
  • Use the torque wrench to tighten the spark plugs to the manufacturer's specified torque (typically around 22 lb-ft or 30 Nm).
6. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  • Insert the ignition coils back into their respective positions.
  • Secure them with the bolts and reconnect the electrical connectors, ensuring a snug fit.
7. Reinstall Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back onto the engine block.
  • Secure with the bolts previously removed.
8. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the vehicle battery and ensure all connections are secure.
