Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Oil filter wrench, socket set, mechanical oil pressure gauge, torque wrench, oil catch pan, new oil, new oil filter
  • Safety Warnings: Disconnect the battery before working on electrical systems; allow engine to cool before opening the oil system.
2. Check and Top Off Oil
  • Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert, and check the oil level.
  • If low, add the appropriate oil type (check the owner's manual for specifications).
  • Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes, then check the oil level again and top off if necessary.
3. Change Oil and Oil Filter
  • Remove Old Oil:

    • Place an oil catch pan under the oil pan.
    • Remove the oil drain plug using a socket wrench.
    • Allow the old oil to completely drain into the pan.
  • Replace Oil Filter:

    • Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter.
    • Apply a small amount of new oil to the rubber gasket of the new oil filter.
    • Install the new oil filter, hand-tightening it according to specifications.
  • Refill with New Oil:

    • Reinstall the drain plug and torque it to manufacturer specifications.
    • Pour the new oil into the engine through the oil filler cap.
4. Test Oil Pressure
  • Remove the oil pressure switch and install the mechanical oil pressure gauge.
  • Start the engine and observe the pressure reading; it should be within the manufacturer’s specified range.
  • If pressure is low, further investigation of the oil pump or other internal engine components may be necessary.
5. Reassemble and Check
  • Reinstall any components removed during the procedure.
  • Ensure all tools are accounted for and the work area is clean.
