Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for safety.
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
2. Recharge Refrigerant
  • Tools Required: Refrigerant recharge kit, gloves, safety goggles
  • Locate the low-pressure service port on the AC system.
  • Connect the refrigerant recharge kit to the low-pressure port.
  • Follow instructions on the refrigerant can to add the appropriate amount of refrigerant.
  • Monitor the pressure gauge to ensure it falls within the manufacturer's specifications.
3. Replace AC Compressor (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, AC compressor replacement kit
  • Remove the drive belt from the AC compressor by loosening the tensioner.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the compressor.
  • Remove the refrigerant lines connected to the compressor (ensure to recover refrigerant if necessary).
  • Unbolt the AC compressor from its mounting bracket and remove it.
  • Install the new compressor by reversing the removal process. Tighten bolts to manufacturer torque specifications.
  • Reconnect refrigerant lines and electrical connectors.
4. Replace Cabin Air Filter
  • Tools Required: None (may require a flathead screwdriver)
  • Open the glove compartment and remove any contents.
  • Locate the cabin air filter access panel and remove it.
  • Take out the old cabin air filter and replace it with a new one.
  • Reattach the access panel and close the glove compartment.
5. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal and ensure it is secure.
