why does my Volkswagen Golf MK7 (2015-2019) have a P0302 misfire code

Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather tools and ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface with the engine off.
• Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

2. Replace Spark Plug

1. Remove the engine cover (if applicable).
2. Locate the spark plug for cylinder 2.
3. Use a spark plug socket and ratchet to remove the old spark plug.
4. Inspect the condition of the old spark plug; if it shows significant wear or deposits, it needs replacement.
5. Apply anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plug.
6. Install the new spark plug and tighten it to the manufacturer's torque specification (typically around 20 Nm or 15 lb-ft).

3. Replace Ignition Coil (if needed)

1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil for cylinder 2.
2. Remove the mounting bolts using a socket set.
3. Lift the ignition coil out of the spark plug well.
4. Install the new ignition coil, ensuring it fully seats over the new spark plug.
5. Reattach the electrical connector and secure with the mounting bolts.

4. Check and Replace Fuel Injector (if needed)
