Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather required tools and parts.
• Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
• Wear safety gloves and goggles.

2. Remove Wheel

• Loosen the lug nuts on the affected wheel with a lug wrench.
• Jack up the vehicle and securely place jack stands under the vehicle.
• Remove the lug nuts completely and take off the wheel.

3. Inspect and Replace Brake Rotors

• Inspection: Use a dial indicator to measure the runout of the rotor.
  • If the runout exceeds manufacturer specifications, proceed to replace the rotor.
• Replacement:
  1. Remove caliper bolts using a socket set and slide the caliper off the rotor.
  2. Hang the caliper using a bungee cord to avoid stressing the brake line.
  3. Remove the rotor mounting screws (if applicable) and slide the rotor off the hub.
  4. Install the new rotor, tightening screws to the manufacturer’s torque specifications.
  5. Reattach the caliper over the new rotor and tighten caliper bolts to the specified torque.

4. Replace Brake Pads
