Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: small flathead screwdriver, new key fob battery (typically CR2032), and an OBD-II scanner.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe location and the ignition is off.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Use the small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  • Remove the old battery, noting the orientation for the new battery.
  • Insert the new battery in the same orientation as the old one.
  • Snap the key fob casing back together.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Sit in the driver’s seat and close all doors.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the "On" position without starting the engine, then back to "Off."
  • Remove the key and press the lock button on the fob for at least 5 seconds.
  • Turn the ignition back to "On" position and check if the fob functions correctly.
4. Check Vehicle Battery
  • Open the hood and inspect the vehicle's battery for any corrosion or loose connections.
  • Use a multimeter to check the battery voltage; it should read around 12.6 volts when the vehicle is off.
  • If the voltage is low, charge or replace the vehicle battery.
