Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the ignition is off.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues.
2. Inspect the Steering Column
  • Remove the steering wheel cover using a screwdriver.
  • Inspect the steering column for broken or loose components.
  • Reassemble the steering wheel cover once inspection is complete.
3. Replace Worn CV Joints
  • Lift the front of the vehicle and secure with jack stands.
  • Remove the wheel on the side with the clicking noise using a socket set.
  • Detach the axle nut using a torque wrench and socket.
  • Pull the CV joint off the axle and replace it with a new one.
  • Reassemble by reversing the steps and tightening the axle nut to the manufacturer’s specifications (usually around 250 Nm).
4. Replace Tie Rod Ends
  • Locate the tie rod end connected to the steering knuckle.
  • Remove the cotter pin and castle nut using a wrench.
  • Use a ball joint separator to detach the tie rod end from the knuckle.
  • Install the new tie rod end and secure it with the castle nut and cotter pin.
5. Inspect and Replace Steering Rack (if needed)
  • Check for any leakage around the steering rack.
  • If damaged, remove the steering rack by disconnecting the tie rod ends and any mounting bolts.
  • Install the new steering rack and reconnect all components, ensuring everything is tightened to specifications.
