Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to ensure safety.
  • Allow the vehicle to cool down if it has been running.
2. Access the Speed Sensor
  • Locate the speed sensor, typically found on the transmission or differential.
  • Remove any protective covers or components obstructing access to the sensor.
3. Remove the Faulty Speed Sensor
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the speed sensor.
  • Use a socket or wrench to remove the mounting bolt(s) holding the speed sensor in place.
  • Gently twist and pull the sensor out of its mounting location.
4. Install the New Speed Sensor
  • Apply a light coat of sealant or lubricant (if recommended) to the O-ring of the new sensor.
  • Insert the new speed sensor into the mounting location.
  • Secure it with the mounting bolt(s) to the manufacturer’s specified torque (typically around 8-10 Nm).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the new speed sensor.
5. Reassemble and Test
  • Reinstall any components or covers that were removed for access.
  • Reconnect the vehicle battery.
  • Start the vehicle and allow it to idle for a few minutes.
  • Check for error codes using the OBD-II scanner; erase any existing codes.
