Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the parking brake is engaged.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the vehicle at the designated lifting points.
  • Secure the vehicle with jack stands for safety.
3. Remove the Wheel
  • Use a lug wrench to remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
  • Store the lug nuts in a safe place for reinstallation.
4. Inspect Struts
  • Visually inspect the strut assembly for any signs of damage or leaks.
  • Check the strut mounts for signs of wear or deterioration.
5. Replace Struts (if worn)
  • 5.1. Remove Old Strut

    • Unbolt the strut from the steering knuckle and the upper mount using the appropriate socket and wrench.
    • Carefully remove the old strut from the vehicle.
  • 5.2. Install New Strut

    • Position the new strut in place and secure it to the steering knuckle and upper mount.
    • Torque the bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications (usually around 45-60 ft-lbs for upper mounts).
6. Reinstall Wheel
  • Place the wheel back on and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle and then torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer's specifications.
7. Test Drive
  • Perform a test drive to confirm the handling and comfort have improved.
