Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and materials: clean lint-free cloth, funnel, and transmission fluid (specific to Volvo specifications).
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and the engine is warm.
2. Check Fluid Level
  • Step 1: Remove the transmission dipstick from the tube.
  • Step 2: Wipe the dipstick clean with a lint-free cloth to get an accurate reading.
  • Step 3: Reinsert the dipstick fully back into the tube, ensuring it seats properly.
  • Step 4: Remove the dipstick again and observe the fluid level. It should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks.
  • Step 5: If the fluid is low, proceed to add fluid.
3. Add Transmission Fluid (if necessary)
  • Step 1: Using a funnel, add the recommended transmission fluid slowly through the dipstick tube.
  • Step 2: Add fluid in small increments (about half a quart at a time) and recheck the level after each addition.
  • Step 3: Once the fluid level is correct, securely reinsert the dipstick.
