Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure vehicle is on a flat surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
  • Disconnect the battery to avoid electrical issues.
2. Raise the Vehicle
  • Use a hydraulic jack to lift the front of the vehicle.
  • Secure the vehicle on jack stands for safety.
3. Remove the Wheel
  • Use a lug wrench to remove the wheel bolts.
  • Take off the wheel to access the tie rod ends.
4. Inspect and Remove Tie Rod Ends
  • Check the tie rod end for any signs of wear or play.
  • Use a socket set to remove the nut securing the tie rod end to the steering knuckle.
  • Use a tie rod puller to separate the tie rod end from the knuckle.
  • Unbolt the inner tie rod from the steering rack if necessary.
5. Install New Tie Rod Ends
  • Apply anti-seize lubricant on the threads of the new tie rod end.
  • Install the new inner tie rod onto the steering rack and torque to manufacturer specifications.
  • Connect the new outer tie rod end to the steering knuckle and secure with the nut, torquing to manufacturer specifications.
6. Reassemble
  • Reattach the wheel and tighten lug nuts in a crisscross pattern to the specified torque.
  • Lower the vehicle from the jack stands and remove the jack.
7. Alignment
  • It is highly recommended to perform a wheel alignment after replacing tie rod ends to ensure proper handling and tire wear.
