Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on electrical components.
2. Remove Fuel Injectors
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdriver, fuel line disconnect tool
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse or relay and starting the engine until it stalls.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
  • Remove the engine cover if applicable.
  • Disconnect the fuel lines from the injectors using a fuel line disconnect tool.
  • Unplug the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors.
  • Remove the retaining clips and pull the injectors out of their seats in the intake manifold.
3. Clean or Replace Fuel Injectors
  • If cleaning:
    • Use a fuel injector cleaning kit and follow the manufacturer's instructions to clean the injectors.
    • Ensure that the cleaning solvent flows through each injector without obstruction.
  • If replacing:
    • Install new fuel injectors, ensuring the O-rings are lubricated with clean engine oil.
    • Push the injectors into their respective ports firmly and secure with retaining clips.
4. Reassemble and Test
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors to the fuel injectors.
  • Reattach the fuel lines and ensure they are secured properly.
  • Reconnect the battery and replace the fuel pump fuse or relay.
  • Start the engine and check for leaks around the fuel injectors.
