Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the ignition is off.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove Wheel
  1. Loosen the lug nuts of the right front wheel using a socket set.
  2. Lift the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
  3. Remove the lug nuts completely and take off the wheel.
3. Access Wheel Speed Sensor
  1. Locate the right front wheel speed sensor on the wheel hub assembly.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the wheel speed sensor by pressing the release tab and pulling it apart.
4. Inspect and Replace Sensor
  1. Remove the mounting bolt(s) securing the wheel speed sensor to the hub using a socket wrench.
  2. Carefully pull the sensor out of its housing.
  3. Inspect the old sensor for any visible damage or wear.
  4. Install the new wheel speed sensor into the hub assembly, ensuring it is seated correctly.
5. Reassemble Components
  1. Reinstall the mounting bolt(s) for the wheel speed sensor and tighten to manufacturer specifications (check service manual for torque values).
  2. Reconnect the electrical connector to the new wheel speed sensor.
  3. Reinstall the wheel, hand-tighten the lug nuts, and lower the vehicle.
  4. Tighten the lug nuts to the proper torque specification.
6. Reconnect Battery and Test
  1. Reconnect the battery cables, ensuring a secure connection.
  2. Start the vehicle and check that the ABS and traction control warning lights have turned off.
  3. Take the vehicle for a test drive to ensure proper operation of the ABS and traction control systems.
