Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Allow the engine to cool before starting the repair.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Remove any screws or bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Disconnect Fuel Lines
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine until it stalls.
  • Use a line wrench to carefully disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel rail, capturing any spilled fuel with a rag.
4. Remove Fuel Rail and Injectors
  • Unbolt the fuel rail from the intake manifold.
  • Carefully lift the fuel rail off, ensuring the injectors come out with it.
  • If necessary, use an injector puller to remove stubborn injectors.
5. Inspect and Replace Injectors
  • Inspect the O-rings on the injectors for wear or damage.
  • Replace leaking injectors with new units, ensuring O-rings are lubricated with engine oil before installation.
  • Insert the new injectors into the fuel rail and press them into place.
6. Reinstall Fuel Rail
  • Position the fuel rail back onto the intake manifold.
  • Secure the fuel rail with bolts to the specified torque value (consult service manual for specifications).
7. Reconnect Fuel Lines
  • Reattach the fuel lines to the fuel rail and tighten them securely.
  • Ensure all connections are snug and leak-free.
8. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the battery terminals.
  • Start the engine and check for leaks around the fuel injectors and lines.
