Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Check Transmission Fluid
  • Tools Required: Transmission fluid dipstick, funnel, clean rags.
  • Remove the transmission dipstick and check the fluid level.
    • If low, add the appropriate transmission fluid as specified in the owner’s manual.
    • If dirty or burnt, proceed to fluid change (refer to next step).
3. Change Transmission Fluid and Filter
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, fluid catch pan, new transmission fluid, new filter.
  • Raise the vehicle using jack stands and secure it.
  • Drain the transmission fluid from the pan into a catch pan.
  • Remove the transmission pan bolts using the socket set and carefully lower the pan.
  • Replace the old filter with a new one.
  • Reinstall the transmission pan and tighten the bolts to the manufacturer’s specified torque.
  • Refill the transmission with new fluid through the dipstick tube.
4. Inspect and Repair Wiring/Connectors
  • Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the TCM.
  • Repair any damaged wires or replace faulty connectors as necessary.
  • Ensure all connections are secure.
5. Reconnect Battery and Test TCM
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Use the OBD-II scanner to check for any updates or faults in the TCM.
  • If necessary, reprogram or update the TCM using manufacturer-specific tools.
