Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is turned off.
  • Wear safety gloves and goggles.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the front of the vehicle and secure it on jack stands.
  • Ensure the vehicle is stable before proceeding.
3. Remove the Wheel
  • Use a socket set to remove the lug nuts and take off the front wheels.
4. Inspect and Remove Tie Rod Ends
  • Locate the tie rod ends on both sides.
  • Use a wrench to loosen the lock nut on the inner tie rod end.
  • Use a tie rod end puller to disconnect the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle.
  • Repeat for the other side if necessary.
5. Install New Tie Rod Ends
  • Align the new tie rod end with the steering knuckle and insert it.
  • Tighten the nut to the manufacturer’s specified torque (usually around 40-60 ft-lbs, but check the specific model manual).
  • Reattach the lock nut on the inner tie rod end and tighten it securely.
6. Reassemble and Lower Vehicle
  • Reinstall the wheels and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle from the jack stands and then fully tighten the lug nuts using a torque wrench to the specified torque (typically 80-100 ft-lbs).
7. Wheel Alignment
  • After replacing tie rod ends, take the vehicle to a qualified technician for a wheel alignment.
