Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, fuel line removal tool, screwdriver, OBD-II scanner.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Use the socket set to remove bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Gently lift off the cover and set it aside.
3. Access Fuel Injectors
  • Remove the intake manifold if necessary by disconnecting any hoses, sensors, or electrical connectors attached to it.
  • Unbolt and lift the manifold to access the fuel rail and injectors.
4. Remove Fuel Injector
  • Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail using a fuel line removal tool.
  • Unclip the electrical connector from the fuel injector.
  • Remove the bolts securing the fuel rail to the engine.
  • Carefully pull the fuel rail away from the engine, removing the fuel injector with it.
  • If necessary, use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry the injector out of the rail.
5. Install New Fuel Injector
  • Lubricate the O-ring of the new fuel injector with clean engine oil to ensure a proper seal.
  • Insert the new injector into the fuel rail or directly into the engine, depending on the design.
  • Reattach the fuel rail to the engine, securing it with bolts to the manufacturer’s torque specifications (typically around 15-20 Nm).
  • Reconnect the fuel line and ensure it is secure.
6. Reassemble Engine Components
  • Reattach the intake manifold, ensuring all hoses and connectors are properly connected.
  • Replace the engine cover and secure it with the bolts removed earlier.
7. Final Steps
  • Reconnect the fuel pump fuse and reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and check for leaks around the injector and fuel rail.
