Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: small flathead screwdriver, new key fob battery (CR2032), multimeter (optional).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe, well-lit environment.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Step 1: Open the key fob by inserting a small flathead screwdriver into the seam and gently twisting to separate the halves.
  • Step 2: Remove the old battery, noting the orientation (+ and -) for the new battery.
  • Step 3: Insert the new battery in the same orientation as the old one.
  • Step 4: Snap the key fob halves back together securely.
3. Test Key Fob
  • Step 1: Approach the vehicle and press the unlock button on the key fob.
  • Step 2: Observe if the vehicle unlocks successfully. If not, proceed to further checks.
4. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Step 1: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine.
  • Step 2: Press the unlock button on the key fob for about 10 seconds.
  • Step 3: Turn the key back to the "Off" position and remove it from the ignition.
  • Step 4: Test the key fob again to see if it successfully unlocks the vehicle.
