Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Inspect Fuel System
  • Tools Required: Fuel pressure gauge, wrench set
  • Remove the fuel pump relay to relieve fuel pressure.
  • Connect the fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail.
  • Turn the ignition to the "ON" position without starting the engine to check for pressure readings. It should be within manufacturer specifications (typically 30-50 PSI).
  • If pressure is low, inspect the fuel filter for clogs and replace if necessary.
3. Clean Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Throttle body cleaner, soft cloth, screwdriver set
  • Remove the air intake duct connected to the throttle body.
  • Spray throttle body cleaner onto a soft cloth and wipe the inside of the throttle body to remove carbon buildup.
