Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent any electrical shorts.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Tools Required: Socket set
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Locate and remove the bolts securing the engine cover using the socket set.
    2. Carefully lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Remove the Faulty Ignition Coil
  • Tools Required: Socket set, ratchet, extension
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Identify the ignition coil that needs to be replaced (usually located above the spark plugs).
    2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil by pressing the release tab and pulling it off.
    3. Remove the bolt(s) securing the ignition coil using the socket set.
    4. Gently pull the ignition coil out of the spark plug well.
4. Install New Ignition Coil
  • Tools Required: Socket set
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Take the new ignition coil and align it with the spark plug well.
    2. Push the ignition coil down firmly until it is seated properly.
    3. Reinstall the bolt(s) to secure the ignition coil, tightening them to the manufacturer’s specified torque.
    4. Reconnect the electrical connector to the ignition coil until it clicks into place.
5. Reinstall Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Tools Required: Socket set
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Place the engine cover back onto the engine.
    2. Secure the engine cover with the previously removed bolts.
6. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
  • Start the engine and allow it to idle for a few minutes to ensure proper operation.
