Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Allow the engine to cool before starting work.
2. Raise the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
  • Ensure proper safety precautions are taken.
3. Inspect and Replace Transmission Pan Gasket
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, gasket scraper, drain pan.
  • Remove the transmission pan bolts using the socket set.
  • Carefully lower the pan and allow any remaining fluid to drain into the drain pan.
  • Clean the mating surfaces of the transmission and the pan using the gasket scraper.
  • Install a new transmission pan gasket and carefully reattach the pan.
  • Torque the pan bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically around 8-10 Nm).
4. Check and Replace Leaking Cooler Lines (if applicable)
  • If cooler lines are found to be damaged, loosen and remove the affected lines using the appropriate wrench.
  • Install new cooler lines and secure them tightly to prevent leaks.
5. Refill Transmission Fluid
  • Using a funnel, refill the transmission with the correct type of fluid as specified in the owner’s manual.
  • Start the engine, cycle through the gears, and check the fluid level again to ensure it’s at the proper level.
