Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the vehicle.

Tools Required:

  • OBD-II scanner
  • Socket set
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Cleaning solution for throttle body
  • Safety gloves
2. Address Throttle Body
  1. Remove the throttle body:

    • Detach the air intake duct connected to the throttle body by loosening the clamps.
    • Unplug the electrical connector from the throttle body.
    • Remove the mounting bolts and carefully take out the throttle body.
  2. Clean the throttle body:

    • Use a throttle body cleaner to remove carbon deposits.
    • Wipe clean with a lint-free cloth and ensure all passages are clear.
  3. Reinstall the throttle body:

    • Position the throttle body back in place and tighten mounting bolts to manufacturer specifications (usually around 10-15 Nm).
    • Reconnect the electrical connector and air intake duct.
3. Inspect and Clean Idle Air Control Valve (IAC)
  1. Locate the IAC:

    • Find the idle air control valve, typically mounted on or near the throttle body.
  2. Remove the IAC:

    • Unplug the electrical connector.
    • Remove the mounting screws and take out the IAC.
  3. Clean the IAC:

    • Spray IAC cleaner on the valve and clean thoroughly.
    • Reinstall the IAC and connect the electrical connector.
4. Check Battery and Alternator
  1. Test battery voltage:

    • Use a multimeter to check the battery voltage (should be around 12.6V with the engine off).
  2. Test alternator output:

    • Start the vehicle and check voltage at the battery again (should read between 13.7V and 14.7V).
  3. Replace if necessary:

    • If battery or alternator is underperforming, replace with OEM specifications.
