Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Wear safety goggles and gloves for protection.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Using a hydraulic jack, lift the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
  • Remove the wheels to access the suspension components.
3. Remove Worn Components
  • Control Arms/Bushings:
    • Remove the bolts securing the control arm to the chassis and the wheel hub.
    • Replace the bushings if they show signs of wear.
  • Struts/Shocks:
    • Detach the top mounting bolts of the strut assembly from the strut tower.
    • Remove the lower mounting bolts from the wheel hub.
    • Replace the strut or shock absorber.
  • Ball Joints/Tie Rod Ends:
    • Remove the cotter pin and nut from the ball joint/tie rod end.
    • Use a ball joint separator to detach it from the control arm or steering knuckle.
    • Install the new component and secure it with a new nut and cotter pin.
4. Reassemble and Torque
  • Reattach all components in reverse order of removal.
  • Use a torque wrench to tighten all bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque settings.
5. Reinstall Wheels
  • Mount the wheels back onto the vehicle.
  • Tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern to the manufacturer's specifications.
6. Lower the Vehicle
  • Carefully lower the vehicle back to the ground.
