Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, socket set, torque wrench, fluid pump, transmission fluid, transmission filter kit.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and securely raised with jack stands.
  • Disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical shorts.
2. Check and Replace Fluid
  1. Remove the transmission dipstick and check fluid level.
  2. If low, use a fluid pump to add the correct type of transmission fluid as specified in the owner's manual.
  3. If fluid is dirty, proceed to drain the transmission fluid.
    • Locate the transmission drain plug and remove it using a socket wrench.
    • Allow the fluid to completely drain into a suitable container.
    • Replace the drain plug and torque to the manufacturer’s specifications.
3. Replace Transmission Filter
  1. Remove the transmission pan by loosening the bolts with a socket set.
    • Note: Some fluid will spill out, so have a container ready.
  2. Carefully detach the transmission filter from the transmission body.
  3. Install the new transmission filter, ensuring it is seated properly.
  4. Reattach the transmission pan and torque bolts to the specified values.
4. Refill Transmission Fluid
  1. Using the fluid pump, refill the transmission with the new fluid through the dipstick tube.
  2. Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature.
  3. With the engine running, cycle through the gears (Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive) to ensure fluid circulates.
  4. Check fluid level again and add more if necessary.
5. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the battery terminals and ensure they are tightened securely.
